Mandriva network tools now have a basic mobile internet support, using either PCMCIA cards, or mobile phones over bluetooth. Though, it can still be improved.

These tools only support GSM (GPRS/EDGE/3G) for now. It would be nice to have CDMA (1xRTT/1xEV-DO) support as well :

More AT commands could be supported, such as AT_OPSYS (to select the preferred network type):

The "replacedefaultroute" patch could be applied to pppd, so that it can add a default route even if another already exists. A better solution would be not to check default route on other interfaces.

Gentoo's wiki page about bluetooth might be of some help to debug connections over bluetooth.
